How much are lessons? The cost of lesson depends on the length of lesson and location. Please contact us directly for detailed lesson pricing.
What is the attendance policy? Attendance guidelines are intended to help students get the most out of their lessons and the study of their instrument.
If you need to cancel a lesson, please give us as much advance notice as possible, and we will do the same. Prior to the month beginning, please notify us of any planned absences. This way, we can either schedule a make-up lesson time, or reduce the invoice for the upcoming month.
If you are home sick the day of your lesson, please text or email us that morning. You will not be charged. However, please understand that because a lesson time is reserved for you each week, we must charge for no-shows and last minute cancellations (less than 24 hours advance notice) that are not due to emergencies.
What do we need to bring to lessons? Always always always bring your instrument, music, and a pencil. Clarinet students should also have a cleaning swab, a three-ring binder for handouts, and at least 3 working reeds.
What apps would be helpful for practicing? You will definitely want to download an app with a metronome and a tuner. We highly recommend Tonal Energy Tuner because it has it all and more!
How much should I practice? There is a different answer for every student, but ultimately, you need to practice as long as it takes to learn your music, improve, and master new skills. By taking private lessons, you have shown interest in furthering your musical education. Please come prepared for lessons. We love teaching private lessons, but it frustrating for the teacher, student, and parents to have several lessons in a row with little to no improvement. If you're here, you want to improve, so put in some time and practice! :)
